Hawkins County

On November 11, 1863 a Confederate force led by the 27^th Battalion Virginia Cavalry captured 100 prisoners at Rogersville. Near Big Creek the 36^th Battalion Virginia Cavalry, 8^th Virginia Cavalry and the 21^st Virginia Cavalry also engaged Union forces capturing and 294 prisoners along with wagons and ambulances.
