Franklin

November 30, 1864
Williamson County

On November 30, 1864 the Confederate Army of Tennessee commanded by Lieut. General John Bell Hood attacked the Union Army of the Ohio under the command of Maj. Gen. John Schofield at Franklin, Tennessee. After repulsing numerous frontal assaults on the Union fortified position Schofield was able to conduct an orderly withdrawal of his army to Nashville.
