Sesquicentennial License Plate
The Tennessee Civil War Preservation is sponsoring Tennessee’s official Civil War Sesquicentennial License plate. TCWPA must receive 1000 pledges before the license plate will be produced. We’re on our way to the finish line. The specialty plate costs $35.00 per year. Proceeds from the plate will support Civil War battlefield preservation in Tennessee.
Breaking News:
At the Shiloh Civil War 150th Commemoration, Governor Haslam announced a donation from The Trusted Choice agents of Insurors of Tennessee to help TCWPA put our plate on the road. We appreciate Insurors of Tennessee’s wonderful support. They’re making the difference for this project.
If you’re one of the first 1000 to pledge to order the plate you will receive a form in the mail from TCWPA very soon. Please send the form and your check back to TCWPA immediately so we can confirm our numbers and get the order into the state as soon as possible.
If you haven’t signed up for a plate and want to be one of the first to order the plate, please print the form below and send the form, along with your check, to TCWPA, P.O. Box 148535, Nashville, TN 37214. But hurry because as soon as we submit the entire order it the state, you’ll have to order your plate through your County Clerk’s office.
TCWPA’s Pledge:
In a joint effort to promote battlefield preservation and the Civil War Trails program, TCWPA pledges its proceeds ($15.62 per plate) to both battlefield preservation and the Civil War Trails program. Vice-President Joe Smyth noted, “Your support for the Sesquicentennial license plate will help promote the understanding and appreciation of Tennessee’s Civil War heritage and that goes hand-in-hand with preservation. Displaying the license plate will promote awareness while proceeds will further TCWPA’s mission of battlefield preservation and the Civil War Trails’ program of interpreting hundreds of Tennessee’s Civil War sites.”
