TENNESSEE CIVIL WAR NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA AWARDS GRANT TO TCWPA FOR GIS MAPPING
TCWPA has received an $11,000 grant from the Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area to fund a Geographic Information System (GIS) project for mapping Civil War military sites in Tennessee. Tom Nolan, PH.D., Director, Laboratory for Spatial Technology, Department of Geosciences at MTSU will direct the project. Nolan will compile GIS data for up to 750 military sites – about ½ of the sites listed in Dyers Compendium.
