President Jim Danley Expresses Gratitude for Contributions
Annual Gift Campaign
President Jim Danley announced the 2009 year-end annual gift campaign brought hundreds of donations from Tennesseans and TCWPA members from across the United States. “Donations have exceeded past giving levels and we are deeply grateful to all who contributed. It is heartening to see the response. We are particularly moved by several who wrote that while the times are tough – and they couldn’t give as much as before - they offered their gift because they believed so strongly in preserving our battlefields.” While contributions continue to arrive, TCWPA has received more than $10,000 to date.
TCWPA Receives Major Gift from Foundation
In December, the Anne Potter Wilson Foundation of Nashville gave an extraordinary gift of $25,000 to TCWPA. On behalf of TCWPA, President Danley acknowledged this major gift as the largest gift to TCWPA since organized and is deeply grateful to the Foundation for their generosity. The donation will help TCWPA continue its mission to preserve and interpret Tennessee’s Civil War battlefields.
