Tennessee Historical Commission Awards New Grant
TCWPA received a new $35,000 grant from the Tennessee Historical Commission. The grant will fund administrative services from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. TCWPA appreciates the continued support and ongoing partnership with the Commission in promoting the appreciation for and the protection of Tennessee’s Civil War battlefields.
Board appoints Executive Advisory Board
At the spring meeting, the Board of Directors appointed an “Executive Advisory Board.” The Executive Advisory Board will participate in Executive Committee meetings, providing program and planning guidance to the Committee and Board on an ongoing basis. Members include past TCWPA president Steve McDaniel, Tennessee Wars Commission Program Director Fred Prouty and National Park Service Superintendent Woody Harrell.
Board appoints new positions to Advisory Board
At the June 18th Board of Directors meeting, the Board established two new advisory board positions, representing the Tennessee Preservation Trust and the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. Dan Brown, Executive Director, Tennessee Preservation Trust, and Lee Curtis, Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, will serve on behalf of their agencies.
