TCWPA hosted the annual membership meeting at Reflection Riding Arboretum and Botanical Gardens at Lookout Mountain on March 7, 2009. Members reviewed the Annual Report for 2008, elected the 2009-2010 Board of Directors, and recognized the 2008 and 2009 Robert A Ragland award winners. TCWPA board members were joined at lunch by Board members from the Friends of Moccasin Bend and the Friends of the Park. President McDaniel applauded the work of the local organizations in preserving Chattanooga area sites. He also recognized Executive Directors Shelley Andrews and Kay Parish for their help in making the Chattanooga meeting such a success.
Following the meeting, members toured newly acquired properties with National Park Service Historian Jim Ogden. Jim led the tour on battlefield lands below Lookout Mountain. Participants viewed the assault on Lookout Mountain from the ascending soldiers’ perspective.
